The Story
"Roebling’s Bridge" is the untold story of the family behind the creation and construction of the Brooklyn Bridge. Exploring the complicated relationship between Chief Engineer John Roebling and his son, Washington, this short film examines what happens when the son of a domineering father is asked to help lead the largest engineering project of its time.
After his father’s sudden and untimely death, Washington grapples with the enormous responsibilities that have fallen onto his shoulders, questioning whether he is ready and able to step into his father’s shoes. Only Washington's strong-willed wife, Emily, is capable of building his confidence so that he may accept the fate that was forced upon him.
